The Corporate America Dream!

Corporate America sells dreams as well.  The boss calls you on your cell phone and says “John,  meet me out front of the office in 10 minutes,  I want to show you something.”  Ten minutes later your boss pulls up in his brand new Lamborghini.  The door lifts up and you sit down.  “Wow” you say,  “This is a nice car”.  “Thank you John,  I really was excited to get it”.   You and the boss take off and head up to one of the most prestigious areas in town.  “This is an amazing area”  you say as you drive up the mountain side through some of the wealthiest estates you have ever seen.   Then you pull up to a gated driveway and a man in a guard house opens the large gates and signals the boss in.   As you drive up the long driveway you notice the beautifully landscaped gardens and ponds.  “This is unbelievable” you say.  Your boss says “Yes, we have several full time gardeners that just keep the place looking good.”   As you near the top of the hill you see the most beautiful home you have ever seen.  It is like a mansion.  It has tennis courts, gardens, horse stables, and a large fountain in the middle of the circle drive.  The car stops and the boss and you step out.  He says: “Come over here”.  You both walk through another garden by a large swimming pool and to an area that overlooks the entire estate.    The view is simply breathtaking and then your boss says: “John,  if you keep working hard and doing what you are doing,  someday, this will all be MINE!

What a dream!  Unfortunately, most people spend their entire life building someone else’s dreams!  Be proud that you are a business owner and that you have the opportunity to become financially independent and live your own dreams.   But also, be excited that you have the opportunity to help others do the exact same thing.  Some of life’s greatest rewards is in watching others achieve financial success and having their dreams become a reality.

Begin living your own dreams TODAY!

Your First Step to Success

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and so does your success in Pre-Paid Legal.  Your first goal should be to recruit an associate and then write their membership.  If you enroll an associate first, your starting commission on their $35.95 membership would be $138.00!  If you choose just to sell a membership then your commission would be only $34.00.  So obviously, the best way to get started is to sign up one associate with a membership. I challenge you to do this TODAY!  When I joined the company fifteen years ago I signed up my first member and associate within a couple of days.  It happened to be my mother, Dr. Judy Smith, who today is a $100,000 income earner with the company and has multiple $100,000 income earners on her team.  Over the last fifteen years I have earned millions of dollars but it all started with my very first sale.  What was that first sale worth?  About 5 million dollars so far.  Because if I hadn’t made the first sale I would have simply quit the business.

Dan Holman joined the business seven years ago.  He went out his first day and sat across the table with nine people and wrote eight memberships.  He went on to earn over $100,000 a year, but it all started with him taking ownership of his success and writing his first sale.   Dave Paperno is today one of the top producers for the entire company.  He has sold over 12,000 personal memberships and earned over a million dollars in income.  But just like everyone else, he went out and made his first sale, got a check, and it motivated him to go out and get another one.    Jeremy Roma has built a team that has sold over 23,000 membership so far.  But it all started with his very first sale.  He may not be able to tell you about the last twenty memberships he has written, but he could definitely tell you the story about his first membership sale.   My brother Mike has earned over a Million dollars in the last seven years, and his team has marketed over 30,000 memberships.  His million-dollar business all started with his first sale.  Kris Evans wrote 50 double memberships on Thursday of this week.  Everyone would love a $9,000 day!  But you never get a $9,000 day unless you first have a $138 one.   I could go on and on with how every success story has started.  But they all have the same beginning.  These people made a decision to be successful and they went out and made it happen and it all started with their first sale.

You can make excuses or you can make money – but you can’t make both!   I challenge you to start TODAY by going out and recruiting your first associate and writing your first membership.   It will be the first chapter in your Pre-Paid Legal success story.  You may get some rejection, you may have to do several presentations before you get a sale, but I promise you it will be worth it!   Success is a choice.   If success were a requirement everyone would be successful.  Everyone would have a big team, a big bank account,  and would become financially independent.  But success is not a requirement.  We allow people to make excuses instead of making money.   If you are going to make an excuse then pick anyone you want.  There are thousands of excuses that people use to avoid success.  Have you ever heard the story about the guy that quit and never made their first sale?   Probably not,  because those stories are boring and useless.  Quitters never win and winners never quit.  Decide that you will be a winner and have success TODAY!  Go out and enroll your first associate TODAY!  Go out and sell your first membership TODAY!   There has never been a better window of opportunity than right now. Your success is simply what you settle for. Don’t settle for the table scraps when you can own the whole palace.

To Your Success!

Here is an email that Mark Riches sent in response to someone that was critical of our business. Enjoy!

Stephanie, I really don’t appreciate you people trying to play off MLM as real job. Please move onto another person fool around with… Lawrence

Mark Riches Response:

Lawrence,

I saw your response to Stephanie and just wanted to make a quick comment. Obviously, Harvard Risk Management is not MLM. It is one of the largest brokers of legal and identity theft products in the nation. It does allow individuals to run their own business with no income limits or glass ceilings. Unlike corporate America – we want people to become financially independent. I have been with the company for over fifteen years and have earned well over five million dollars. This business has been such a great blessing to me and my family. When I heard about the company years ago I was living in an apartment in New Orleans making less than $25,000 a year. Today, I live on a horse ranch in Tennessee and have over a million dollars in investments and real-estate and earn $25,000 every few weeks.

I used to have an attitude like yours… It got me nothing and no-where. I was flat broke and had no future. I changed my attitude and it literally changed my life. If you want to be successful – do what successful people do. Perhaps you have tried being in business for yourself and failed. Most successful people fail many times. Failure is a key part of success. If you would rather go work for someone else and build their dreams – then do it! It’s your life and you only get one shot. But don’t put down others that are pursuing their dreams through business, MLM, or any other form of enterprise. I say cheers to them all! Not everyone can be an owner. We need employees. We need people to work in the restaurants, and pick up our garbage and clean the resorts that my wife and I visit. We need pilots of airplanes and house cleaning people and lawn care people and people to build our cars and houses. We need people to give massages at the end of the day. I don’t want to give myself a massage – that doesn’t even sound right! Cheers to them all and thank goodness not everyone wants’ to be an owner.

Everyone has value and everyone is needed in the world. If you can’t be a business owner then I say go be an employee. If you can’t build your own dreams then I say go build someone else’s dreams! Here is one of my favorite quotes by Steven R Covey “Everyone chooses one of two roads in life – the old and the young, the rich and the poor, men and women alike. One is the broad, well-traveled road to mediocrity, the other the road to greatness and meaning. The range of possibilities that exists within each of these two destinations is as wide as the diversity of gifts and personalities in the human family. But the contrast between the two destinations is as the night is to the day.” —Dr. Stephen R. Covey, from The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness

Choose whatever road you want. But once you make that choice, don’t waste your time barking at those that have chosen a different road. Be happy for them. Smile at them and love them. Heck, You just might hurt their feelings because they don’t have a “real job” and they miss hanging around the office making others wealthy.

Cheers!

Top Five Legal Requests in 2009

Real Estate Issues Tops 2009 List of 2.3 Million Requests for Legal Services

Pre-Paid Legal’s Top Five Legal Service Requests Highlight Need for Affordable Legal Counsel

ADA, Okla., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Real estate-related issues was the leading legal service request among members (customers) of Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. (NYSE: PPD) during 2009 followed by 2) consumer finance, 3) family law, 4) collections and 5) estate planning.  The top five legal service requests for 2009 is based on the total volume of 2.3 million member requests for legal services to the 40 independent provider law firms that assisted Pre-Paid Legal members throughout the U.S. and four provinces of Canada for calendar year 2009.

“The PPD legal service request list offers a unique perspective on the legal issues that Americans and Canadians face on a daily basis,” said Pre-Paid Legal’s Founder and CEO Harland C. Stonecipher.  ”Because these members have a Pre-Paid Legal plan, they have access to affordable legal service to help them manage issues such as foreclosure, credit issues, collections and other life events,” he said.

Of the total 2009 requests for legal services, the top five requests account for approximately 45 percent or approximately 1.1 million of the total requests.  The remaining 1.2 million requests were for a variety of other legal services such as traffic-related matters, employment issues and civil litigation.

By category, the top five legal service requests include:

Real Estate, Landlord/Tenant Issues and Foreclosure – Approximately 358,000 requests for legal services that include residential and commercial real estate transactions, landlord and tenant issues and legal counsel related to foreclosure and short sales

Consumer Finance – Approximately 195,000 requests for legal services related to retail transactions for warranties, guarantees and other contracts

Family Law – Approximately 193,000 requests for legal services related to divorce, child support, child custody and child visitation

Collections – Approximately 162,000 requests for legal assistance to support members against other parties and to defend members from third-party debt collectors

Estate Planning – Approximately 160,000 requests for legal services for preparation of wills and other counsel related to final estates

Daniel F. Mantzaris, a partner with Orlando, Florida-based deBeaubien, Knight, Simmons, Mantzaris & Neal, LLP (www.dbksmn.com), believes that many individuals who face these common legal issues do not understand the implications of the legal issue nor their options for resolution.

“I can’t emphasize enough the value of early involvement by an attorney in legal matters such as those identified in this top five list of service requests,” Mantzaris said.   ”As provider attorneys, we work with our Pre-Paid Legal members to help them understand their situation and determine the best legal option to address that particular issue.”

deBeaubien, Knight, Simmons, Mantzaris & Neal, LLP has provided legal services to PPD members in the North Florida market for the past 14 years.

Charles E. Davis, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Mesa, Arizona-based Davis Miles, PLLC (www.davismiles.com), said, “These 2.3 million requests for legal services represent the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the public need for access to affordable, routine legal services.”

“Too often, people with common problems like foreclosure, credit or collection issues wait too long to deal with these issues.  A preemptive approach sometimes saves a lot of money and much anguish and heartache,” Davis said.

Davis Miles, PLLC has been the PPD’s Arizona provider law firm since 2004 and the provider law firm in New Mexico since 2008.

The PPD top five list of legal service plan requests is based on statistical data collected from the provider law firms and shared with PPD.  PPD maintains a rigorous monitoring system and conducts surveys which provide feedback on the customer service experience of PPD members with the provider law firms.  This is one of the distinguishing characteristics of the PPD’s legal service plan model.  The average tenure for provider law firms in the PPD network is more than 12 years.

Become a Promoter of Events!

One of the keys to building a successful team is developing the skill of promoting.  In sports and business, the promoter always makes the most money.  You can promote for any event:   A conference call, a weekly briefing, a training, or a regional or national event.  In any case,  you can separate people into three categories:

The Excuse Makers:  These people may plan to go to an event, but come up with excuses of why they are unable to go.  The top excuses are that they don’t have enough money or they don’t have enough time.  Ironically,  the training available at the events usually focuses on how to leverage your time and make more money.  Too bad they missed that training!  It doesn’t really matter what excuse they use for not attending. The fact is, they don’t show up, and as a result they make very little money.   This group represents the majority of people in our business.

  1. The Attendees:  This second group represents the majority of people that actually attend the event and unfortunately, this group also makes very little money.  This group usually faces obstacles in attending the event but they understand that they can make money or they can make excuses – but they can’t make both.
  2. The Promoters:  The third group of people is by far the minority.  These are the ones who make the most money from an event and in business.  A promoter never  questioned whether or not they would attend the event.  They knew that top leaders go to events and they want to be a top leader.  The promoter does not merely attend the event, but they immediately go into action promoting the event to their team. Their goal is to get as many people from their team to the event as possible.  Promoters make a list and start making calls; They understand the difference between informing and promoting.   They always have the most people at the event,  thus they have the most motivated and best trained team, develop the best leaders, and ultimately, make the most money.

Let’s promote the Ada Boot Camp next week!
